Must Read: Not Forgotten Susan in Uganda

Susan Ithungu accepted Christ as a young girl in 2009. When her Muslim father found out, he beat and threatened her in unsuccessful attempts to force her to deny Christ. He then locked her in a small space in their mud shanty.

She was rescued after six months, having survived on small amounts of food and water that her brother was able to secretly give to her. Susan suffered from untreated malaria while locked away and the months of calcium deficiency affected her growing bones, resulting in permanent leg damage.

Susan, now a teenager, has endured multiple surgeries. In September 2018 she developed an infection in her thigh that required another surgery and a long recovery.
